Y8 Romantic Poetry: William Blake

Objectives: 1) To identify key facts concerning the contemporary framework of the poem. 2) To identify and discuss examples from The Lamb & The Tyger belonging to the semantic fields of religion (heaven & hell).  STARTER TASK: Read the BBC History Biography of William Blake then list five key facts about him in your books under the title; 'William Blake Contemporary Framework' Main Part 1:  In your groups, read The Lamb & The Tyger then highlight words that belong to the semantic fields of heaven & hell.  Main Part 2:  Semantic Fields & Imagery Individually, draw a table in your book to show quotes and images the quotes create for the reader over a double page and illustrate in the style of Blake. Plenary: Draw round your hand then write down (on the figures) SMILE across the fingers (showing you know what each letter stands for).
